Irresistible since 1979test.

You’ll find more than 50 flavours of ice cream at Waterfront Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt. This home of fun frozen treats is located in a historic building that dates to the late 1880’s. Owners Tito and Cecilia DeLuca opened up the shop in 1979 when they could not find a place to enjoy their favourite pastime, eating ice cream.

Since then it has become a popular landmark destination for all who visit from near and far. Children’s faces light up as they run through the front doors and see the dazzling displays of colours and huge selection of hand scooped, soft ice cream and frozen yogurt.

A Time Honoured Tradition.

The DeLuca’s can whip up an old-fashioned milkshake, parfait, sundae or a banana split. Healthy eaters can indulge in a vast variety of frozen yogurt or enjoy a smoothie or protein shake. In the summer months you can sit beneath the gazebo overlooking the Navy Yard Park on the Detroit River or stroll through the park with your favourite treat.

The business continues to be family run. Tito and Cecilia’s son Justin, and wife Jen took over management in 2005 so that Tito and Cecilia could retire and pass on the family tradition. Still, you may run into them at the shop anytime between March and October. Stop in at Waterfront Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt and be a part of history. You’ll be glad you did.
